Editing Services

Cyndy Drew's editing services will prepare your writing for submission and publication. As a side benefit, you will gain knowledge and confidence in your writing.

All editing services are offered at the rate of $50/hour. The number of pages edited per hour will vary depending on the service chosen; you will receive an estimate of time required when your two edited pages are returned to you.

Editing Service	Description
Professional Analysis	Your text will be read with an eye toward engagement and marketability, and you will receive a written analysis of your work. The analysis will feature examples, drawn from your writing, illustrating the major strengths and weaknesses in your work. Suggestions will be provided on how to strengthen the weak spots.
Copy Editing	A search-and-destroy mission, eradicating the following types of errors: typographical spelling grammar punctuation Misused words and unclear phrasing will be noted; suggestions will be made for correction of repetitive errors.
Line Editing	Addresses--and provides solutions for--weaknesses not only in the text, but also in the content of your writing. The fat is cut away, leaving only grade-A-beef-quality writing. This is the ideal solution for the writer who has a sow's ear but needs a silk purse, and for those who abhor the heavy lifting of revision. Line editing involves substantial rewriting and reorganizing; the end product will be a highly polished version of your draft: your work, your voice, your characters at their best.
Individualized Instruction	Along with the revisions made on your copy edited or line edited work, you will receive easy-to-understand instruction on how to avoid these mistakes in your future writing. Think of this as a writing textbook, personalized to address your individual needs.
